Privacy-focused cryptocurrencies have outpaced the broader crypto market recovery, rising 213% since October 2025. According to data shared by on-chain analytics company Glassnode, privacy coins have been one of the strongest performing sectors in the market recently.

Bitcoin (BTC) is still 36% below its peak reached during the same period. The median performance of assets among the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization is also 58% behind its October 2025 high. In contrast, privacy coins have seen a 213% increase during this period.

The data shows that privacy-focused projects are distinctly diverging from other major sectors of the crypto market. Decentralized finance (DeFi), Layer 1, AI, real-world assets (RWA), memecoins, and Layer 2 categories have all yet to reclaim their peaks from October 2025.

The rise in privacy coins wasn’t limited to long-term performance alone. According to Glassnode data, the sector also gained 90% in value over the last 30 days, making it the highest-performing category in the crypto market.

This performance indicates a growing interest among investors in blockchain projects that provide transaction privacy and financial confidentiality. Privacy coins utilize technologies aimed at enabling user transactions to be conducted with a higher level of privacy.

However, the rapid rise of the sector also brings with it the risk of high volatility. The significant gains made by privacy-focused assets in a short period of time mean that price movements may be more erratic compared to other crypto sectors.

Glassnode’s data reveals that privacy coins are clearly diverging from other major crypto categories in the current market recovery.
