While Bitcoin rose 25.5% in 24 hours to $0.89, $VELO is trading at $0.038, up 22.1%.
According to the announced plan, Aerodrome and Velodrome will be merged under a single cross-chain DEX called “Aero,” scheduled to launch on October 21st. The new platform is planned to operate on the Base, Ethereum mainnet, OP Mainnet, Arc, and Ink networks, with Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum to be added in the future.

As part of the merger, the existing $AERO and $VELO tokens will also be combined under a single $AERO token. According to the revenue sharing model, approximately 94.5% of the previous revenues will be allocated to $AERO holders and 5.5% to $VELO holders. In addition, it is envisioned that the existing community structure and trading platforms will be migrated to the Aero ecosystem.

Given that Aerodrome is a significant liquidity hub, particularly within the Base ecosystem, and Velodrome is a key player in the OP Mainnet, this merger stands out as an attempt to consolidate the liquidity and user base of both protocols under a single structure.
