Cross-chain transactions usually end when the assets arrive. Aurora Labs wants them to end when the user has actually completed what they came to do.

Aurora Intents has added Sui as a destination for Intents Connect, allowing users to move supported assets from other blockchains directly into actions such as lending, staking, trading or yield strategies on Sui. The entire process can happen with one signature, without manually bridging assets, switching wallets or acquiring $SUI for gas.

The system runs on NEAR Intents, which provides the underlying solver network, liquidity, settlement and chain connectivity. Aurora Intents currently supports more than 30 chains.

Sui already has substantial capital deployed onchain. The bigger opportunity for Aurora is making capital sitting on other networks accessible to Sui applications without asking users to navigate the infrastructure connecting them.

From Solana $USDC to a Sui Position

The easiest way to understand the difference is through a user coming from Solana.

Someone holding $USDC on Solana who wants to deposit it into a Sui protocol would typically need to move the asset across chains, use another wallet and obtain $SUI to cover transaction fees.

With Intents Connect integrated into the Sui application, Aurora says the user can instead authorize the process with one signature inside the application they already have open.

The important part is what happens next. Intents Connect doesn't simply deliver the funds to Sui. It can execute the action the user originally came to perform, such as depositing into a lending protocol or yield strategy. Aurora describes Intents Connect as a multi-step execution layer that can combine cross-chain routing, conversion and DeFi actions.

Aurora Labs says that for roughly three-quarters of the applications it speaks with, delivering the funds is only half the job. Users are usually trying to stake, lend or trade once the assets arrive.

Why Sui Was a Bigger Integration

Sui presented a different technical challenge because its architecture differs substantially from Ethereum-compatible chains. It is only the second non-Ethereum-style blockchain Aurora Intents supports after Solana.

“We chose Sui because the engineering challenge is exactly what makes this integration meaningful,” said Declan Hannon, CEO of Aurora Labs.

“Sui has a different programming model, a different address format, and a different way transactions are assembled, and it is only the second non-Ethereum-style chain we have ever supported, after Solana. Supporting Sui as a destination means Intents Connect can take the complexity of that environment away from the user while giving builders access to capital that already exists elsewhere.”

For Sui developers, the integration opens their applications to users and liquidity on other supported chains without requiring those users to navigate the infrastructure connecting them.

Someone can arrive with assets on another chain and leave with a completed position on Sui, while the cross-chain routing happens behind the scenes.
